Turn right at red light?
Let's break this down: - Red light means STOP! - Right turns on red are allowed and, not allowed, in certain states. Check your state's motor vehicle laws. - Check for pedestrians and proceed with caution. - Look for "No turn on red" signs and proceed with caution. Good luck!

Ran a red light, a camera was present?
Sorry it is hard to tell, not all the time do they have to have a sign because they could have others saying that this is a viewed area and some do not even have things like that anymore, but I gues you can only wait, but next time watch out because you never know!

Red light camera in California?
Here is what is very interesting about your situation: You are probably not going to believe me because it probably goes against everything you were taught. Ignore the "ticket." Yes, I said ignore--at least at first. I put that word "ticket" in quotes because its actually not a ticket. California law requires that you be properly served with a summons. When you run a red light and get a "Notice of Violation," in the mail, you are not properly served. Here's a good way to tell: Does your "ticket" have the address of the Court on it? It must contain the words "NOTICE TO APPEAR" at the top of the document. So what happens if you ignore it? The next step is for the court to formally serve you. The likelihood of the court doing that is extremely low. But if your local court does, you have a whole process you are entitled to through traffic court. It includes discovery, a written plea and trial by declaration and a trial in person if the declaration fails. That's why the "ticket" you do have is worthless. It does not afford you the due process required by law. That's because a private agency is the one handling your "violation." You can not suffer the negative consequences of the law, fines, warrants, suspension without being provided due process. As far as administrative action, the city is not able to "flag" your DMV record which would prevent you from renewing unless there is a conviction. The reason these tickets make so much money is just about everyone thinks they are legitimate tickets. Its intentional. They are designed to look like tickets. If you do get a real ticket, you could just pay it or go through the court procedure. But at least that's a better chance than just paying it now.

How to capture a small red light?
You need to lower your exposure. The red is brighter than the camera can pick up. If it is bright enough, you may have to use an HDR technique and take one really dark photo for the red of the light and another for everything else
