Well honestly all BMW's are eautiful in its own ways. The 1 series is nice, ut not sexy. The 3 series is eautiful, the coue and the sedan oth are very aealing, ut it's not the sexiest. The 5 series never aealed to me as much as the others. I always found the 6 series the most eautiful model of BMW and roaly in the world, ut after having it around for aout 5 or 6 years, it doesn't catch your attention much. 7 series is eautiful, ut come on, it's definitely not sexy. So that leaves only one model. The new 2010 BMW Z4. It's sexy in every way. The interior, the lines, the shae. The est art is that it's a rand new design, so it's nothing old or ordinary.

Mercedes and BMW's will cost you an arm and a leg to fix if it breaks. go with something cheaper around $3,000 dollars, yes 3k instead of 30k. nothing worse than finding a car of your dreams, and having it be totaled in a year because you are a new and inexperienced driver. go cheaper because honestly spending that much money on a new car for a new driver is crazy

I am a BMW enthusiast who is moving away from the newer models. I almost got over the new designs but I absolutely can't get over the lack of water temp gauge and an oil dipstick.

A lot of what ry has written is correct, however there are variations with the second two numbers (and only sometimes which adds to the confusion).

For example, there are earlier models of BMW which differ such as say a 316 which is actually a 1900cc (but not every 316).

Another example is 323 which isn't actually 2300cc.

I don't know them all off by heart, just be aware that some differ slightly from the badging. BMW seem to love doing these quirky little things.

My advice if you want to be sure would be to check out data available in motor magazines for each model in question (something like What Car), and compare the engine displacement to the badged name.

well the 1 series came out in 2008, by the time you're actually buying one, they should have 128's or a 135 for 25k or less. If i could have one BMW right now it would be a sedona red 135i coupe.

3 series are abundant. there should be plenty for under 25k.

but the higher you go in the BMW hierarchy the more expensive itll be. dont plan on getting newer 5's, 6's, 7's, X5's or any M's. but you might be able to find a Z4 or an X3 as well by then.

like the first guy said- a Certified Pre-owned BMW is a used BMW thats less than 5 years old, less than 60,000 miles (or 50,000) and it goes through a strict inspection to make sure theyre the best used BMWs you can get. Ask about them at your dealer. They come with a 50,000 mile 4 year warrenty... im pretty sure.

A 2001 5-series is totally out of warranty. You need to know that you are totally on the hook for any repairs (and they will exist, as BMW, despite its marquee name, is not the most reliable make) incurred on the vehicle. You probably already know that parts on Bimmers are high.

I would purchase something WAY more reliable and newer, for less money. You'll save on insurance and repair bills.

You also need to keep in mind your future plans. Do you plan on working 3 jobs forever (and, honestly, $300 per week isn't that much)? What if something happens and you cannot work?

You would be much wiser purchasing a vehicle for $5-7000 that will last you through high school and college, and keep saving money. After college, you can then get a newer Bimmer if you still want it.

I just traded in my 2007 BMW 530i in for a 2009 Audi A4, the Audi really is cheaper to own and better to drive. The BMW's iDrive will frustrate you a lot, along with it's gas mileage. It ended up costing $700 dollars in the end because we went over our 50k Mile warranty but that was for some chipped paint on the front bumper. Overrall we had no breakdowns. It was a fantastic car to own, but it was, in my eyes, too common in my area... The Audi ended up costing me $29,000 and my 530i was $59,000... I like my Audi more.. People always tell me how cool my car is.. nobody said that in my BMW (I had BMW's for 12 years). The Audi is just as roomy and is more up to date.

The BMW you're looking for should either have a warranty still or you should buy Certified Pre-Owned BMW or CarMax

Can I order a car that isn't in production any more?

Sure!

If you can convince BMW to:

1) Shut down one of their factory lines completely. (**OR, buy another outright)

2) Re-tool the entire line to make the parts for that model and that model only

3) Convince the UAW or whatever union to have its workers stop what they're doing, re-write their contracts, and go to work on a one-off model... for one example.

4) Put aside the hundreds of thousands/millions they make daily off of the factory line shut down from #1. After all, this isn't done in a day.

5) THEN... you go in and destroy the new factory or line, re-write contracts again, and wait months (with more productivity/profits going bye-bye) to restart the original line of production.

Yep, I'm sure BMW will do this for one car.

(Buy an older, low-mileage example and have it restored to your liking. Or, inherit Bill Gates' fortune and look into the other scenario.)
