natural light lightbulbs?
Yes there are light bulbs that have a effect of natural lighting ( full spectrum) from the sun and you can have the light's angle closer resemble natural lighting by bouncing it off a wall, or the celling, to disperse the light making it seem more natural and less direct. I also think it helps having light sources mounted on a wall, verses the ceiling
What White Balance to use when using Tungsten light and natural light?
Normally, you do not want to mix light sources like that. Get some blue get to throw over your tungsten light to make it closer to daylight color. If you can not do that, you could try to do a "split" white balance at about 4200. The tungsten will be a little orange, and the daylight will be a little blue. If done right, it might look kind of like a night shot.
I have S.A.D. Any suggestions how to cope?
It has to be a full spectrum light at least 10 000 lux, that's all I know. Regular light wo not help because it's not full spectrum and yada yada yada. I've been looking for a few days and I can not find anything suitable just in a store so I guess online is a good place to look. I am sure you could find something cheap online. I hope you. I have no doubt about it's effectiveness. Eat fruits and veggies (as you should every other season), drink water, get your protein, complex carbs, just have a healthy diet. Sugary and fatty foods wo not help with anything so resist any cravings! Exercising is so important! Do it in the morning and outside if you can. A morning walk helps. Spend as much time as you can outside and keep your blinds open because any amount of natural light helps. Do things that make you happy and take care of yourself.
Can using Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo turn natural light brown hair brassy/ orange color?
It could be the shampoo. Even if you have been using Nexxus products for years, things have changed. Jheri Redding developed the original Nexxus product lines, which were sold exclusively through salons. My stylist told me that in May of 2005, Nexxus was sold to Alberto Culver. A-C then began mass marketing the products, trying to ride on the good reputation of Nexxus. Part of their strategy, however, involved making the products more cheaply, and as a result, the formulations were changed. Consumers still paid the price, in more ways than one. Salons began getting complaints about Nexxus products, and many, including the one I go to, dropped Nexxus altogether. Even the professional supply company that my stylist worked with stopped carrying Nexxus, and pulled everything off the shelves of all the local salons. They could not afford to be associated with Nexxus any more, so performed their own sort of recall. Take your Nexxus products back to the salon or store where you bought them. Tell them why you are dissatisfied, and request a full refund. Also let the store manager know that you are aware that Nexxus products are not the same they used to be, and will no longer be buying any of them. Reputable stores and salons do not want to be associated with inferior products either. Perhaps Alberto Culver will realize the mistake they made in changing the Nexxus products. Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo and conditioner, or Neutrogena's Anti Residue shampoo are both good clarifying products. It sounds like it's time for a change.
How can I live greener?
It is greener to reduce what you buy. If you do have to buy things look for recycled content, natural ingredients and sustainable harvesting. I will also add my standard go green answer below. Going green is easy, there are so many great resources about the subject. My personal favorite is "The Green Book" As I have been striving to "Go Green" I realize it is like stepping back in time without getting rid of my modern conveniences. I am doing many things I learned as a child, like line drying my clothes, sweeping instead of vacuuming, opening the windows in the morning to catch the cool breeze, only buying what I need instead of everything that looks cool, growing some of my own food, and canning what I can not eat now. To me "going Green" is a frame of mind. Do what fits your lifestyle and do the easy things first, it is a process and like dieting if you go to radical to soon, you are more likely to go back to bad habits. I also believe there are good, better, best choices in most things. If you are not ready to start a home garden, then try finding a farmers market, until you locate one look for produce grown as close to home as possible and go organic when available. Many people think "going green" is expensive, I disagree. Some changes may take an initial investment, but they usually have a short payoff time. Things like weatherstiping and insulation cost, but the energy savings will add up quickly. You may need to purchase reusable bags, but most stores give you a 5 or 10 cent credit, so you are paid back within a few months. My top tips are make your home more energy efficient, that also means using natural light, cooling and heating. Reduce your packaging, if you eat more fresh food you will generally reduce packaging, it's the same thing they tell dieters, shop the perimiter, that is where all the meat, dairy and produce are located. Only buy what you will use, many Americans throw away a lot of unused food. Buy in bulk, that does not just mean large packages, but that area with the bins that you buy only what you plan on using. Replace disposable items with durable items, if you eat outside often and use disposable paper or plastic plates, it is a wise investment to purchase a set of reusable plastic plates. Replace disposable razors, diapers and cleaning products like swiffer. Avoid bottled water, get a home filter like Pur or Brita. Recycle, I try to only purchase plastics that are #1 or #2, they are more easily recycled. I also buy recycled products when available, that includes paper towels, napkings, toilet paper, tissue, school/office supplies and clothing. Detox your cleaning, vinegar and baking soda clean almost anything, they can even losen a hair clog. Seventh Generation and Method are a couple mainstream brands that are very earth friendly. Just start small and build from there, do not get overwhelmed.
