Lighting is the lifeblood of a design Gregory KayVisualizing our life without any glint is horrifying. Besides natural light in the daytime, the contribution of artificial glare in our life is priceless. In Interior Design, lighting has a massive impact on the look and feel of the space. It can be the most powerful way to transform a space. People often get confused while setting up interior lights. Which light would go well in the living room? How far apart should the ceiling fixtures be placed? And many more such questions. So its crucial to know the fundamentals.Light works in conjunction with color selection, room size, furniture, and availability of natural light. In the interior, lights are divided into three categories as follows1. General/Ambient lighting General lighting is the first layer and used as the primary source of lighting. It provides a uniform glow over the entire space. A regular bulb, ceiling or wall-mounted fixtures, chandelier are some commonly used general lights.
2. Task lighting After general lighting, the next layer that designers use is task lighting. It provides the appropriate glare where required. We do need more light sources for some particular activities like painting, studying, cooking, dressing up, etc. Design professionals analyze these places in the house to make sure there is an adequate amount of glow. For example, a table lamp, under cabinet light strips, track lights, adjustable floor lamps, etc.3. Accent/decorative lighting This is the third and final layer of lighting. They are used to highlight certain elements or areas like photographs, paintings, sculptures, etc. to create some strong visual impact. Accent lights are generally three times brighter than the ambient light. Picture lights, candlelights, wall sconces, pendants are a few examples of this.
Some important pointers before you begin:Brighter lights can make you feel alert and awake, whereas dimmer or softer lights can be relaxing.Uplighting(lights pointing upward) makes a room feel larger; low hung pendants will create an illusion of height and a cluster of lights can give your space a cozy feel.Do not place lights close to ceiling fans because moving blades will obstruct the ray and create a staggering effect.Place recessed lights at least 2 feet away from the walls and cabinets to avoid a spotlight effect on the vertical surfaces. The distance between two adjacent recessed light should be half of the ceiling height. For example, if the height of the room is 8 feet, you should place your lights approximately 4 feet apart.Do share your feedback as well as ideas. Where can I buy leather to match my Tahoe's interior light grey color?I kinda think that would be illegal if you plan on anyone sitting on it while driving. But I guess to help you with this..Get online and look for a local Tailor. OR, Find a local Fabric shop. I think Wall mart even carries the material you would be looking for. Just look for any shop or store even online for Fabric man. I'm sure if you look hard enough you will find the material you are looking for.As for getting someone to make it..Your probably best off asking mom to sew it for you. Otherwise it might cost a little more then I think it would be worth.
You could always try to get a hold of Xzibit for a pimp my ride episode or something. They seem to do stupid stuff like that all the time. (no offense) but I don't see a need for a been bag in a Tahoe.Good Luck ((O_o))
