The former Beatle is reported to be spending at least pounds 1m on the glittering nuptials but what if Macca had stayed back home in Liverpool? Where might he have had this marital extravaganza?
Cashback takes a look at what is on offer in the city when money is no object...
VENUE Macca's choice, Castle Leslie, in County Monaghan (pictured below) dates back to the 17th century and straddles the border between northern and southern Ireland.
It stands in a 1,000-acre estate which the musician is said to have rented for a two-week period after visiting the home a couple of years ago.
Around 300 guests have been invited to join the happy couple. But on Merseyside we have got a few glittering venues of our own ...
For pounds 1,260, Macca could book the scene of a triumphant '60s Beatles celebration at Liverpool Town Hall.
For that he gets the chandeliered large ballroom, small ballroom and three reception rooms with all the fine furniture and paintings, many on loan from the Walker.
Up to 200 guests could be accommodated and it includes a dance floor. The town hall was built in the1750s with some rooms built later in the 1800s and is very popular.
Every Saturday and Sunday this year are booked up, with plenty of bookings already taken for next year.
House manager Steve Lambert says: It's a magnificent building for any wedding. Macca would be proud to be married here. He would be surrounded by portraits of Liver-pool's other great sons and daughters down the years.'' Or Converted from the old Liverpool Airport in Speke, the Marriott Hotel South would be very appropriate for Paul as it is where Beatlemania reached its peak when the Fab Four set off to conquer America in 1964.
The four-star hotel is grade II listed, boasts stunning art deco architecture and is able to cater for up to 250 guests at the reception.
The couple could also have a civil ceremony there for up to 150 guestsat a cost of pounds 155 but they would have to arrange for a registrar.
The hotel would provide a red carpet reception, a toast master, complimentary parking, top table flowers a changing room and printed menu cards.
The wedding breakfast menus start at pounds 24 per head but probably wouldn't suit the strict vegetarian.
As for the wedding night, the hotel offers a complimentary double bedroom. Or Paul and Heather could opt for the Ambassador Suite at pounds 175.
BRIDAL GOWN Phillip Armstrong Bridal Couture near Sefton Park says it would offer Heather the best London couture in the North-West.
Phillip, who has designed dresses for Robbie Fowler's wife, Kerrie, among others, and receives orders from brides across the country, says: If Heather came here we would be very discreet, no-one would see her here and she would have our ultimate attention all the time.
I would go for something sexy and understated, perhaps handbeaded antique lace or an Italian Zibilene silk.
With our exclusive dressing service, we would be looking at around pounds 4,000.'' FLOWERS They are one of the most important wedding features so Heather will want her flowers to be perfect and that is what she would get from city florist Earth.
Manageress Linda Cleary has a few good ideas for beautiful bridal blooms for the former model.
We could do a hand-tied bridal cascade of phalanophsis orchids.
They are white with a golden eye and are specially imported from Singapore. That would cost from pounds 195.
For any bridesmaids we could do a hand-tied posy of imported head to head symbidium orchids which are white with a gold throat. That would start at around pounds 60.
As for buttonholes, if they didn't want wired orchids, Calla lilies are very popular and different. They come in a vast array of dazzling colours and we are doing them in everything from hot pink to black and lime. From pounds 6.50 each.'' WEDDING RINGS Around 25 diamonds set in a circle of platinum give the priciest wedding ring from Boodle and Dunthorne a pounds 45,000 price tag. The ladies version, (pictured above)costs pounds 18,000. Each diamond is squareshaped, very like the one David Beckham wears, and is, despite the cost very popular.
Boodle salesman Alan Kirkwood says: They are very big and we do get the odd footballer in here after them.
However, they are the very top end. Most wedding rings only cost a couple of hundred pounds.'' WEDDING CARS The best of British could be supplied to ferry the golden couple and their guests from service to reception.
Royal blue or ocean blue Jaguars - or Sovereigns - are all available for hire from Ex-cel Chauffeurs, along with blacked-out people carriers for the more cloak-and-dagger operation beloved by some stars.
Managing director Keith Jackson says: The Jags are British and veryclassy without being ostentatious. People just stop and stare. They are that type of vehicle.
Some of Macca's guests may prefer them. Others may want to get there as quietly as they can so the people carriers may be better.'' Prices start from pounds 25.DRINK There will no doubt be plenty of champagne flowing at the McCartney party but what should the guests be drinking at the wedding of the year?
John Atkinson, manager of Scatchards Wine Mer-chants in the city centre recommends the celebrity favourite Roderer Cristal at pounds 100 a bottle and offers a 10% discount if you buy more than six bottles.
Alternatively they could have gone for a Roderer Cristal Rose at pounds 200.
For wine John recommends the Spanish red Vega Sicilia Riviera del Duero at pounds 105 or a white burgundy such as Chablis Grand Krug (pictured) for a modest pounds 25.CATERING Juliet Shield of city caterers Mange Tout could offer the staunch vegetarian an extensive finger buffet including full staff compliment and crockery from pounds 10.95 per head.
Guests would be treated to such vegetarian delights as garlic croutons with goat's cheese, vegetable fritatas with fresh spinach, courgettes and red peppers and vegetable and mozzarella kebabs with basil and raita dip.
FOOTWEAR If the bridegroom insists on wearing trainers - as he did for his cousin Sally's Liverpool wedding - then he should at least splash out on the most expensive ones in town.
The new silver and blue Micro-pacer 11s by Adidas are priced pounds 149.99 and even have a watch in the tongue so you can work out how far you've run in them!
Adam Ramsey, sales assistant at Wade Smith Athletic, says they're the priciest but most popular, as are the Adidas Climacool's as modelled by, who else but Beckham, price pounds 79.99.
We get 24 pairs on the first of every month and by the third they've all gone,'' he says.
He adds: But there are always black Pumas if he's sticking to the dress code. They might go better with a morning suit!'' CAPTION(S):
