I have the iud without the hormones so its not mirena.... but i mean i like it because im hormone free ive been on it for 2 yrs now yes at first the cramps are bad and u bleed heavily however eventually it gets better.. i think it jus depends on ur body and wat u think about hormones in ur body. . the iud i have lasts upto 10 years the mirena is 5... bw im 21... and have 2 kids already so yea u shud defintely get on something because its tough with kids (im also in college) anyway best of luck!

what's the safest birth control option?

I am on depo-provera and it's a shot you get every 12 weeks. I've loved it so far and it's even supposed to lighten and in many cases stop your period. It's supposed to be pretty safe too. I think it's 99.9% effective and I was told by some people that it's better than some other BC's. I would also recommend using a condom just in case. You can never be too careful right?

with birth control, is pregnancy possible?

I am not sure what the exact statistics are but let me tell you, I was on birth control (NuvaRing) for about 3 months before we started having unprotected (w/birth control) sex. I was then on the nuvaring for 3 more months afterward when we found out I was 9 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend another form of birth control (ie; condom, etc).

I have been taking the birth control patches and now my period will not stop.I started using the patch on the?

My mom has had the shot birth control before, not the patch but when she had the shot her period was constant for pretty much the whole 3 months that it is supposed to last so it may just be the certain hormones affect certain people differently. Perhaps try a different method of birth control that will work better for you, she later got the ring inserted and did not have that problem anymore

They are not sold over the counter. However, u can got to a local health clinic and receive them free. But u will need to get a pap when u go

I do not believe that! Why would they do such a thing? this is really corrupt! I do not think people want unwanted pregnancies and not only that a lot of women use birth control for different reasons like Ovarian cyst or to regulate their period. If the government ever bans birth control all the women will go on strike and a lot of us would actually sue them!

Smoking while taking birth control?

I smoke normal cigarettes, and I have the contraceptive implant. It says that it affects the reliability of the pill, or the implant, or whatever, but i smoked when i was on the pill, and it did not do anything to me! :)
