1. How much does 1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup of liquid equal? I feel stupid asking but i cannot figure it out!?
I have th e SAME issue and I did not have fractions in school due to a very sick math teacher who was out all the time with no substitute in a small country school. I know I must be nuts because all of you say that 1/2 plus 1/3 = 3/6. Is not 3/6 the same as saying 1/2???? Sorry I do not get it.

Stir the milk mixture frequently using a heatproof rubber spatula or wooden spoon to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan. When the rice is tender (al dente) remove from heat and add the sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Return to heat and cook until the rice pudding thickens, about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add the raisins. Spoon the pudding into your serving bowls and cover with plastic wrap. If you want a film or skin on the puddings, allow them to cool before covering with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until serving time, about 1 to 2 hours. If desired, garnish with lightly sweetened whipped cream. Makes 2 to 3 servings.

Raspberry Danish 1/2 of a 1-1/4-ounce package (1 sheet) frozen puff pastry, thawed 1/3 cup seedless raspberry preserves Pressurized whipped dessert topping Chopped pistachio nuts or almonds 1. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. If necessary, use a rolling pin to flatten and smooth the pastry. 2. Cut the pastry into 12 equal strips. Coil each strip, wrapping loosely, into a circle or spiral. Moisten the outside end of each strip with a little water and secure it to the pastry to prevent pastry from uncoiling during baking. Place pastries on an ungreased baking sheet. 3. Bake in a 400 degree F oven about 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on a wire rack. To serve, in a small saucepan heat preserves until melted, stirring often; drizzle over baked pastries. Let the preserves cool slightly. Top with whipped topping. Sprinkle pastries with chopped nuts. Serve immediately. Makes 12 Danish.

you have lots of options. You can use butter or margarine for one. When I am in a tight spot I use those butter spreads (like Olivio, or I can not believe its not butter) and my cookies come out perfectly. If you dont have enough of one, you can mix them no problem to get 1/3 cup. you will be fine

Look on the side of the butter stick, there is a measurement on it. Take butter knife and cut at 1/3 cup. There your done.

It's definitely going to be 2/3 of the half cup. 1/2 is equivilant to 3/6 1/3 is equivilant to 2/6 2/6 is 2/3 of 3/6 Just try to make it 2/3 of the half cup.
