Soft hair is my specialty! This is the question I was BORN FOR. Anyway. What I do that results in my hair being freaking amazingly soft. 1. Use a deep conditioner. The one I use is Vo5 Hot Oil Shower Works. I think. Use it before shampooing. If you get a different one, read the label and do that instead. 2. Rinse it out. 3. Wash your hair with a nice shampoo. 4. Put baking soda your hair before rinsing out the shampoo and work it through. 5. Rinse. Rinse really good. 6. Use a nice conditioner. 7. RINSE. 8. Towel dry. It's gentler. 9. Comb it with a wide tooth comb while it's wet, and when it's dry use a wide brush. Brush a lot. 10. Use a leave-in conditioner while your hair is damp and blow-dry it. Make sure to keep combing/brushing to reduce knots. Except for the shower works thing, I use all Garnier products. The shampoo and conditioner is super clean, and the leave-in conditioner is lightweight and works great. I also use their styling products, because they are lightweight and keep my hair looking great and feeling great. Remember to let each product sit for a while in your hair before rinsing so they can work their magic, especially the conditioner. If you use baking soda, conditioning is really important. Baking soda is a naturally abrasive cleaning agent, and as such dries out everything it touches, so make sure to condition. Shave or something while you wait so you do not waste time and water. I know baking soda in your hair sounds freaky, but I am not kidding. Do it. As far as I am concerned, there is no magic cream that will give you soft hair. You gotta work for it. If you have dyed hair, make sure whatever shampoo/conditioner stuff you buy wo not wash out the color. Brush your hair though. A LOT. Your brush is your new best friend. Go hug it. NOW.
